The Intergenerational Daycare was a team project. We were given a shell of a building and from that had to determine a site and design the interior of the building. As a team we got to meet with some associates from Gensler in order to get their opinion on our design. They mainly just wanted to continue our creative concept throughout the building. The renderings as well as the furniture/floor plan was mainly created by me whereas my teammate helped in the space planning process and some more of the exact placement of the furniture. I also had the idea to add the circular exterior library space to create sanctuary for the kids and elderly. Another idea I had was to add a kid/elderly friendly golf course in the back so that there would be interaction between both communities. Our goal was to create a harmonious space where elderly and the young could work and function together in a singular space.
